Bio

Edward Y. Uechi (a U.S. Citizen) is a non-profit management professional, a food safety analyst, and an IT systems expert. He had started his career in the Information Technology (IT) field in 1996. He worked at a high-technology international corporation in Silicon Valley during the dot-com boom. But 9/11 hit. He was in Manhattan during that week. And 9/11 had marked a turning point in his life. Edward decided to move to the non-profit sector where he can make a positive difference. He managed the IT department at a national non-profit, public policy organization in Washington, DC. He established operations of a new non-profit organization to provide conflict mediation services. For the last ten years, he has worked on consulting assignments funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the World Food Programme (WFP). He has had exciting opportunities to serve people in Africa and the Middle East. Edward earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution from San Diego State University and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. He is currently certified in Nutrient Management by the Maryland Department of Agriculture.
